Fun trash can project........

I'm probably getting road-weary (just got back from another trip--to Beaufort/Charleston this time) but when I saw these at Blue Moon I pictured it as a garden table, so I drug one home and this is how it ended up......I visualize a section of rusty fence about 5" high around the inside the rim to hold the glass top up so the plants can hang out, but didn't have any on hand.....

Andrew said the trash cans were recycled from a boyscout camp, and he used them in front of the shop for planters with big pots of juniper in them.

I like it with the flowers and no glass top in the below pic, but it loses a lot of function.
It's pretty funky/industrial, but hopefully it will fit in with our show look this month.

I wondered when you said you had a garbage can with the bottom out, what in the world you would do with it. Should have known it would be fabulous! What a great idea...I'm sure it will be a hit at the show.

Sandra

I would LOOOOVVE one of those, but those old cans are no where to be had. I havn't seen one of those in years! You're luck to have scored one. I hope you keep it..lol It looks great both ways, but I like the look of the flowers coming out of the top without the glass.
Great job!

HI! So happy to have Internet connection again to catch up with you and your awesome finds! I had one of those green heart chairs in mint condition..sold eBay $179 would you believe??!!
LOVE that trash can idea as a table!

I am so laughing at your "can't believe this happened just a week after the flea market"! I know! Ugh! And cleaning up my garage mud mess I found your kind of items and thought of you!!

cheers, happy hunting & selling!!

I love these old cans and am always trying to grab my Dad's out of his yard...some day(night)...heehee...

Funny story...my pops(82) accidentally ran over his can and dragged it under his truck(that's another story)then spent 2 days hammering out all the dents and dings, saving the ol' relic...obvious now where I get my love of old trash cans...ha!

Great stuff on your road trip, can't wait to see the results...
