Thinkin' about my Dad........

Today is Dad's birthday...he has been gone a long time...he would have been 84. Dad was all about cars and engines...he had his own gas station and repair business, and was the best mechanic around. He worked really hard, and I am so proud of him. He made sure we had fun....my childhood was filled with boats, fishing, water skiing, golf, tennis, horses, dirt bikes, go-carts, and vacations to the mountains. He always had the coolest cars, and he helped me get that sweet '67 Mustang classic convertible...candy apple red.
Miss you Dad.....

Whatta hunk...my Dad is 82 and the love of my life, I think often of the day I will be without him...it's a lonely place!

I recall the 67' candy apple red Ford Fairlane, my first car(boat)...he said,"it's a fastback, very snazzy", wish I still had it!

But I know he will be waiting for me, as my life ebbs, as will Granny, his mother...life moves forward.

Have a great weekend...a big hug from Iowa!!!

What wonderful memories he left you with. No man can compare to our daddies...they had the knack for making us feel special.

BTW...my daddy was a mechanic with his own shop too...best in town.

That's so sweet. I lost my dad 19 years ago.. he was a HUGE influence on my life. He was filled with creativity and all about laughter and fun. The good ones are certainly taken early. I love that you posted about your dad. It's nice to bring them to life in words and pictures even though they are always in our hearts and minds.
Nice Post.

I'm sorry you no longer have your dad.
I love looking at these old pictures. It seems like every family has the same type of pics. These pictures could easily have been found in our family album. Men standing by cars in those classic clothes. . . brings memories to mind.

This post is ironic for me since this month is my dad's birthday and he would have been 81. He died at the age of 61. Yesterday, I went by the house we grew up in and it broght back a lot of memories. Happy Birthday to both of our father's!!! Thanks for sharing.

I lost my dad when I was 10. I have very few memories of him except lots of stories my older sisters have to tell. He would of been 86 this year. Glad you had such wonderful times with your dad and lots of memories to treasure.
