It finally stopped raining thankfully! When we first got to Marco, I was surprised to find that this Marriott Beach Resort was SO beautiful (and affordable at the off-season rates)! It's everything you would find in a Caribbean resort, and an easy drive from the Fort Myers airport! From the nice beaches and calm gulf water (complete with dolphins playing offshore of course!) to the pools, "cheekee" huts, and tiki bars.....I LOVE this place!
The interior of this hotel is amazing! 
The lounge has this unique round jellyfish aquarium that is mesmerizing.....in the evening it's so pretty.......they glow in the dark!
There are tons of shells.....
But the sunsets steal the show completely!!
Photos don't do this sight justice.....it was stunningly beautiful.
Did I mention that there is fabulous food and shopping in nearby Naples? Or that there are tons of boats available for all sorts of water sports or wildlife spotting? AND an express boat to Key West? (A much better choice than DRIVING there....I found out the hard way)Note to self....check out the thrift district in Naples next visit!

Beautiful...we've vacationed on Marco Island just once and Naples just once...loved them both.
We hit the thrifts in Naples when we were there and were amazed at the quality of the stuff; not so much old stuff but great basics to furnish a home. Nice quality, nice prices.
(I guess it makes sense with all of the well-off elderly residents in that area; they furnish their homes nicely before they check out...)

Sounds like a fabulous vacation! The pictures are wonderful! Hope you find some great seashells. Appears like shell heaven. We completed the TN Walking Horse Celebration Sat. night and now we are recooperating ...doing farm work! LOL! Working on antiques today for Springfield,OH the 17th. Have a great Labor Day and rest of vacation!?
