I haven't run out of ideas yet for these rusty metal birds! (available on my Etsy) They are so much fun to play with, and in this project I took this large wire (what else?) birdcage and added a light kit and hung a bunch of the birds on rusty twirling wires for a funky chandelier.
When I come across an interesting antique corbel I can afford, I buy it and then have 4 cut from new wood using it as a template to create a new style for my corbel mirrors. This one came out kinda lengthy, but is perfect hung horizontally over a mantel or vertically in a narrow space.
I'll start listing these on Etsy when I get the shipping figured out--this one will go to Queen of Hearts in the meantime.
Also, I have just listed one of my new wall vines......I think the possibilities are endless for these!
Etsy has been an interesting and worthwhile experience so far, but it's really difficult for your items to be FOUND among the millions of items on this site, and the limited categories are exasperating! (my creations never seem to fit into their basic categories!)
It's also helpful if you are a professional photographer and have high end camera equipment, because then your photos are chosen for the main page and tons more people can find you!
Love that mirror idea and the vine you are so talented
ReplyDeleteHi Sassy, I know what you mean. I have just opened my Etsy store, and while I have fun putting it together, it does seem hard for people to find. The tags seems to be very important.
ReplyDeleteI added you to my circle of friends over the weekend, so if they find me, they can find you through my link.
Your items are fantastic and I love your Etsy store, bye for now, Tam x
Good luck with Etsy sales...I know what you mean about trying to search when the amount of items is enormous! How are your booths doing? I will be moving into a new antique mall opening this summer in Sylacauga, AL...you may just have to venture my way...and you better get over to the Cranky Queen and visit me...love & stay trashy, Tiff from Alabama
ReplyDeleteI love those rusty birdcages. Great creative soul, you are! Anne

I'm just having a hard time trying to stay awake to blog, let alone etsy...garden, chickens, painting, playing outside...it's just taking me away from the drudgery of staying in all winter...I'm planting tree rows like crazy to hide me away from the world, I'm working on a small pond plan...did someone say ducklings???
ReplyDeleteHey, what would you do if you had 6 acres 2 miles from town, now that's a lotta landscaping...or I should say unscaping!!! But it's still quite cold, I'm wearing a thick wool sweater as I type...my chicks look at me like I'm crazy, they stay nice and cozy under the heat lamp, though I worry they'll get too big before the weather finally warms up and singe their topknots, they sure are growing fast now, better get the other run built this weekend...have fun with your wire and I'll have fun with mine(chicken wire)...ha!
