When I dropped my silver teapot at the last show and broke the feet, I remembered something I had seen a few years ago, where a teapot (can't remember what else was on it--forks and spoons, I think) was used for a wind chime. I had a lot of orphaned salt and pepper tops, too, so they became the chimes.....it makes such a wonderful delicate sound!
That's so inventive, and so pretty~!
ReplyDeleteOMG, THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER! THAT'S A GOOD EXAMPLE OF MAKING LEMONADE OUT OF LEMONS! AS I'VE SAID BEFORE, LOVE YOUR TRASH, SASSY!

ReplyDeleteBack in the saddle again, don't let no moss grow on them toes...LOVE IT!!! And the clocks are to die for...
ReplyDeleteGirl you never cease to amaze!!!
You seem to be getting a lot of rainy weather down there and lack of sun, and we are usually the same up here, not seeing the sun for weeks on end, but it's shining today, with a temperature of 6...yeah, you heard me right...BRRRRRR...
I love it- and especially that you did it differently by using the salt and pepper tops :)
ReplyDeleteJust Fabulous!!!! You are so creative, I would of never thought of that.

ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to recycle that teapot! I think it's very rustic and would be great to hang in a porch or garden. Certainly different from these wind spinners that are more modern in design.
ReplyDeleteGreat project, beautiful result. I've been collecting silver teapots to do the same and yours is the most unique one I've seen yet, love it!

Wow neat! This is a really great site! I am wondering if anyone else has come across something similar in the past? Keep up the great work! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I wish that I was more creative and could come up with stuff like this on my own. I want to try making something like this.

Using the teapot as an anchor for all of the little bells at the end is such a great idea. It looks like it would go so well in a classic home with a more rustic feel. Do the little bells make any noise when there's a breeze?

I love how you used old silver to make some unique wind chimes. I enjoy finding little odds and ends around the house to make them into fun crafts. I found some old scrap metal and fashioned them into butterfly wind chimes.

I remember back when I was a little kid often. One of my memories was of me with my grandma and I remember just sitting down and listening to her wind chimes. I think it would be nice to get that feeling again. http://www.bmcgifts.com/listing.asp?dept_id=30090&nopopup=1
ReplyDeleteYou just had those salt and pepper shakers laying around?! I wish I had darling vintage supplies like that around my house. If I made that wind chime right now, I'd probably have to use the silverware as well.

That is so creative! I never would have thought of using bells for wind chimes. I don't know where you found that tea kettle, but it looks amazing. The gold color works really well with the dark wood surrounding it. I'm a chimes fan so I can appreciate this.

I don't know what it is with me and wind, but I love it. What makes it even better is to hear the wind chimes in the background. I just haven't had any for years, I think it may be nice to get some new ones. http://www.lorisgiftsetc.com/default.asp?dept_id=30090
ReplyDeleteThis wind chime is very unique. I inherited some old tea cups from my great-grandmother and would love to make this for my mother for a present. I think she would really love this. http://www.bmcgifts.com/listing.asp?dept_id=30090&nopopup=1
