(The white horse is Cody who is over 25 years old--he is so sweet and a such a miracle--he was attacked by pitbulls and had over 600 stitches and not expected to live, but he's a survivor and now happily grazes in a beautiful pasture all day. The paint horse my missy is training on is Sunny--another special sweetie)

South Georgia backroads dereliction

looking very lonely and much the worse for wear

ravaged by time and missing porches and architectural trims

I was thinking of stopping to ask neighboring folks (always so kind and friendly) about the history of this old place but realized I was just procrastinating the trip home. The drive to SW Florida gets longer every time--but some backroads wandering always makes it more fun.

This new wire project sold shortly after posting it on Etsy (and Pinterest). I'm finally starting to get my creative mojo cranked up after taking a break--and am totally excited about the upcoming shows this fall--I may add more, but for now Etsy is keeping me pretty busy. FANCY FLEA show photos

The show was absolutely packed with all the best in antique/garden/art/chippy and cool treasures!

Lots of creativity in tent design....

....and everyone goes all out in their displays.

It was unusually hot though, especially if you weren't under a shade tree. I don't remember it ever being that hot in April but the show is also held in the fall which should be cooler!

I got to see another spectacular Sarasota sunset and watch porpoises playing offshore which always makes the trip complete.

"THE FANCY FLEA" Vintage Home & Garden Market, Plant City FL

So glad to be heading to Florida again---these are just a few of the things (wire sculpture, wood and metal assemblage) that I'll be bringing to the show April 25th and 26th at the Strawberry Festival Fairgrounds in Plant City (see HERE for details and HERE for Facebook page)---the show is sold out as approx 300 vendors will be attending---my booth is #162.

Easter centerpiece assemblage

Using a decorative metal lamp base, funnel, lamp center rod, round wire rack, piece of chicken wire and small glass bottles--

I assembled and adhered all securely, formed the chicken wire cloche, wired the bottles for hanging, and added some white berry sprigs, my mercury glass pearl-edged nest, and a pearl cross to complete this Easter centerpiece....which can be changed out per season or occasion by adding different elements.

Repurposed vintage automobilia salvage mirrors

Here is the finished project---I love the muted orange and rusty patina---and the overall industrial look.

These old truck/auto/bus (?)  light bezels just shouted 'mirror'!

So with just a few materials (an old electronics cable, epoxy and  some 8" mirrors from the craft store) and several days of patience waiting for different stages of glue to dry-- it was a fairly easy project.

The rubber cable was cut and adhered around the opening to provide a gasket cushion and also a better surface to then glue in the mirror (I like the reliability and strength of epoxy for most projects).

Some of the seemingly easiest projects can turn into lengthy, small detail challenges....but luckily not this one!
